Sir Charles Wale, KCB he became Colonel of the 33rd (The Duke of Wellington's) Regiment of Foot on 25 February 1831.6 He promoted to general on 28 June 1838.3 He listed in the 'Nobility Gentry and Clergy' section of Pigot's 1839 Directory of Cambridgeshire as still living in Little Shelford.
