EDM Fruit challenge

Watercolout pencil on watercolour postcard paper

I know that I seem constantly to be drawing fruit but the Everyday Matters Challenge Mistress has decreed that this week we should draw fruit ... so I did.

I have also launched into an eBay commercial enterprise, selling vintage postcards. I boldly had the thought that I might be able to sell some of my postcard sketches there as well, but there doesn't seem to be too much interest in this one. Oh, well ... back to the drawing board.

Interest maybe no dollars? Think I'll go slice up an apple now, you inspired me.

This is a stunning picture. It looks good enough to eat!

You do fruit REALLY well I think I bought this apple's cousin last week, there is a familiararity (is that spelt right?)about it. Have you tried nuts? Nuts are are very interesting especially walnuts-whole or ed.

Apples are easy. They look like apples even if they don't look like the one that you start with. Walnuts on the other hand ... too many wrinkles and creases ... a bit like my face actually. You can see how chuffed I was about getting one crease right in the hat in the last posting.

Nice job, Robyn! It sure does look good enough to eat...
Was that done in pastel? You seem to do a really great job with fruit - I just wondered what your preference was/is: WC, oil, colored pencil, pastels??

I really like how you captured the "strips" in the apple skin and, at the same time, got the smooth texture of the skin so very right. This is great!

This is beautiful!

An apple a day.... this is a great one. Very juicy, no doubt. You know you're right about walnuts they are hard, although my apples looked like bowling balls when I last had a go at drawing them. It was at that point that I realised still life was not my forte.

That Challenge Mistress! You've got to watch her. Anyway, I think this apple is beautifully done, with lots of dimension and elegant surfaces, too.

This is amazing. It doesn't even look like watercolor pencil. The blending is stunning.
