EDM Challenge 62
I drew my faithful old Birkenstocks in July 2004. At the time I was very new to oil pastels and I used them to paint the shoes on the floor near my feet. A couple of weeks ago I shouted myself to some bottles of artists' ink. I hadn't used them yet so they certainly qualify for this challenge. I have used a limited palette of black and burnt sienna.Back in 2004 I was still complaining about not being able to draw moving objects.
In 2006 I am still wearing these shoes.

One of the most satisfying things can be returning to a previous challenge and feeling like you finally 'got it." Definately seems like you did just this. The shoes seem warm and inviting and I bet they are!

Love your birks Robyn. You have done well with the inks, that is something I have yet to try.

One time I bought a pair of their sandals. I never could wear them as the soles were just too hard. I like a cushioned insole.

:-D I have two pairs of Birkenstock sandals that I bought in ... get ready ... 1997. They have been well worn and are still worn often, and look great! My favorite shoes for jeans -- as I'll bet these are for you. Wonderful drawing, as always!
